1、 What is a geotechnical cell: A geotechnical cell is a three-dimensional mesh cell structure formed by high-strength welding of reinforced HDPE sheet material.

2、 What are the characteristics of a geotechnical cell

1. It has flexible expansion and contraction, can be transported and stacked, and can be tensioned into a mesh during construction. It is filled with loose materials such as soil, gravel, and concrete, forming a structure with strong lateral limitations and high stiffness.

2. Lightweight material, wear-resistant, chemically stable, resistant to light oxygen aging, acid and alkali, suitable for different soil conditions such as deserts. 3. High lateral restriction and anti slip, anti deformation, effective enhancement of the bearing capacity of the roadbed, and dispersed load effect.

4. Changing the geometric dimensions such as the height and welding distance of the geocell can meet different engineering needs.

3、 Engineering application of geocell:

1. Processing half filled and half roadbed

When constructing embankments on slopes with a natural slope of only 1:5 on the ground, steps should be excavated at the base of the embankment, and the width of the steps should not be less than 1M. When widening highways by stages or renovations, steps should be excavated at the junction of the filling slopes of the new and old embankments. The width of the steps on high-grade highways is generally 2M. Geogrids should be laid on the horizontal surface of each layer of steps, and the reinforcement effect of the vertical limit of the geogrid should be utilized, A good solution to the problem of uneven settlement.

2. Roadbed in windy and sandy areas

The roadbed in windy and sandy areas should mainly consist of low embankments, with a filling height generally not less than 0.3M. Due to the professional requirements for the heavy bearing capacity of low embankments constructed in windy and sandy areas, the use of geotechnical cells can play a lateral limiting role on loose fillers, ensuring that the roadbed has high stiffness and strength within a limited height to withstand the load stress of large vehicles.
